that is the question
What is netnumbers?
The primary purpose of netnumbers is to help you manage your day to day accounting.
Using netnumbers allows you to record all of your accounting transactions in one place and produce a number of financial reports, for example generate VAT returns and produce profit and loss accounts, aged debtor and creditor reports etc.
netnumbers is not intended to replace your accountant. Instead it gives you the power and knowledge to make decisions based on your current financial situation and helps you keep track of the day to day financial ins and outs of your business. At the end of the month/year you will then be able to provide your accountant with an ordered list of what you have bought and sold and how items were paid for.
What type of internet connection will I need?
netnumbers can be accessed from a 56k modem or even through a laptop connected through a mobile phone. However for best performance we recommend using a broadband internet connection such as ADSL or cable.
Why do I want anytime, anywhere access?
With Anytime, Anywhere access you can work on your accounting from anywhere with an internet connection, for example from the road, at a clients, at your offices or at home.
Can anyone access my accounts information?
No, netnumbers features several layers of security protection, similar to online banking services, to prevent unauthorized access to your information. Only people with access to your username, password and secret word can use your account.
How do you backup my data?
We take utmost care in the safe storage of your data. Each night the day’s transactions are encrypted and transferred to an off site location. This means that you do not have to worry about remembering to back up your data – we look after this for you.
I would like my accountant or off-site employees to be able to access my accounts, can this be done?
Yes. You can grant other users access to your accounts, each person is assigned a username and password at your request. Users can be added or removed at your request.
Is there any software to install?
No. netnumbers is purely web-based. This means you just need an internet connection and up to date web browser – you are not tied to one particular computer. netnumbers works on Mac and PC computers and supports the following internet browsers:
- Firefox 1 and above (recommended)
- Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 and above
- Opera 8 and above
- Safari
How much accounting knowledge do I need to use netnumbers?
We designed netnumbers to be as easy to use as possible. If you know how to record sales/purchase invoices and entries that go through your bank account you will be able to use netnumbers. You do not need to understand accounting.
Where is all my data physically kept?
Your data is stored in a secure data centre, located in Nottingham, England. Physical access to the server is protected by high security locks and CCTV.
Is there a limit to the number of suppliers, customers or invoices I can create?
